About me

My love for ancient letters and other alphabets started when I was only 10 years old. During that time Russian and its Cyrillic alphabet not only became my first foreign language.

Thanks to my grandparents, I have had an insight into our old German scripts and handwritings since my childhood. My grandmother, born in 1924, still writes in “Suetterlin-“letters.

My Mum archived lots of documents of our ancestors, going back to 1817, so that I was able to study the handwriting called “Kurrent”.

I deepened this knowledge again and again through curiosity and passion.

So it was only natural that I developed great pleasure in transcribing historical documents into our present-day script. The insight in quite often artful documents with their decorations and seals hold a lot of mystery. It’s always interesting, what the past brings to light and what we can learn about the past and our ancestors.

I appreciate every handwriting, because of it individuality. Some scripts are very neatly written and transcribing is easy whereas other handwritings are real challenges. I love to master adversities, to tinker with letters and words and to manage a successful transliteration – and I would be happy to do the same for your project, your treasure.

Let’s go on this journey through time and revive history together.
